John Vest is owner/operator of The Little Painting Company. A friend of his was having to rehome her dogs due to restrictions in her new place and she was down to her last dog that no one was interested in and she was going to have to surrender her to the local shelter. She put out one last plea and long story short, John’s world started to change. Reeses became Mazy Mae. After 6 months his wife, Donna, insisted Mazy needed a friend. They went to their local shelters in search of a friend for Mazy and left with hearts overwhelmed with sadness and compassion. John and Donna started making frequent trips to the shelter just to visit the dogs and show some love. They also started to pay the adoption fees for the dogs that had been there the longest to help get them adopted. They ended up adopting a dog that was in bad shape, who they named Zoe.  And 3+ years later John and Donna are still working together because they know that will make this world better. The compassion and determination John has brought to Hail Mary Rescue is a true blessing. His zest and determination for change in animal welfare has not subsided but only increased.
